“The first wealth is health.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
Through our Health & Wellness efforts, FMC Family & Community Services (FMC FACS) seeks to raise awareness of the health and wellness of DFW residents and assist them in accessing and obtaining needed resources, services, and information.
For the last 6 years, FMC FACS has hosted an annual wellness fair during the Fall in the Oakcliff community of South Dallas. The purpose of the annual event is to provide exhibit areas of broad interest and increase awareness of necessary resources for everyone in the service neighborhood and beyond. It is always free and open to the public. Great lengths are traveled to invite local and neighboring community service providers and healthcare professionals to be a part of this important event.
The need exists to create advocates for increasing the health and wellness of individuals in disparate communities through service, resources, and educational opportunities. FMC FACS welcomes local and neighboring community service providers and healthcare professionals to take part in our efforts. All expertise and experience is greatly appreciated. If you, or a representative from your organization, would like to host a workshop, man a booth at the health fair, or volunteer hours at the clinic, please complete a volunteer form indicating your specific interest by following the button below. FMC FACS has dozens of volunteer opportunities — short-term, long-term, special projects, and everything in between. We are looking forward to serving with you and spreading the importance of staying healthy for life throughout the community.
